Introduction:
Intestinal parasite:
A parasite (an organism that lives in or on and takes its nourishment from another organism) in the intestinal tract.
Once consumed the contaminated substance, the parasite travels into intestine. Then they reproduce and grow in the intestine. Once they reproduce and become larger in amount and size, symptoms may appear.
Types:
There are many different types of intestinal worm that can affect people. Below, we look at some of them in more detail.
Tapeworm: A tapeworm is a type of flatworm that lives in the intestine, where it attaches itself to the intestinal wall. Most people with tapeworms experience either no symptoms or very mild symptoms.
Pinworm: A pinworm is a small, thin roundworm that is about the size of a staple.
Pinworms are relatively harmless and sometimes live in the colon and rectum of humans. Someone who has the worms can pass them onto someone else through direct contact or by sharing a contaminated object with them.
Hookworm: Hookworms take up space in the small intestine, where they lay eggs, which pass out of the body through the feces.
Causes:
Possible cause of intestinal parasites can includes:
- Eating undercooked meat from an infected animal, such as a cow, pig, or fish.
- consumption of contaminated water
- consumption of contaminated soil
- contact with contaminated feces
- poor sanitation
- poor hygiene
Symptoms:
Common symptoms of intestinal worms are:
- Abdominal pain
- Diarrhea, Nausea, or Vomiting
- Bloating
- Fatigue
- Unexplained weight loss
A person with intestinal worms may also experience dysentery. Dysentery is when an intestinal infection causes diarrhea with blood and mucus in the stool. Intestinal worms can also cause a rash or itching around the rectum or vulva. In some cases, you will pass a worm in your stool during a bowel movement.
Indications:
Often there are no sings/symptoms of intestinal parasites, when there are symptoms they may include diarrhea which may become severe and chronic, abdominal pain, bloating stomach, nausea and vomiting, itching anus, anorexia or increased appetite, constipation, and anemia. IHR 54 cures helminthes and relapses are prevented. Artemisia vulgaris reduces spasms in children having worms. Cina treats the Pale children with dark shadows around the eyes. Filix mas is specifically active as anthihelminthic, particularly tape worms, Inflamed mucous membrane if the gut with tensesmus and sticky nocturnal perspirations. Tanacetum vulgare is Helminthic, reduces the inflammation and irritation during night time.

Formula with properties:
Absinthinum 1D: Nausea; retching; eructation. Bloated around waist and abdomen. Wind colic. Intestinal worms.
Artemisia Vulg 1D: good for all kinds of intestinal worms like hookworm, tapeworm, pinworm etc.
Cina 1D: Gets hungry soon after a meal. Hungry, digging, gnawing sensation. Epigastric pain. White mucus, like small pieces of popped corn, preceded by pinching colic. Itching of anus .Worms.
Filix Mas 1D: A remedy for worm symptoms, especially with constipation. Tapeworm. Gnawing-pain; worse eating sweets. Worm colic.
Santonine 2D: It is of unquestioned value in the treatment of worm diseases, as gastro-intestinal irritation. Ascaris lumbricoides, and thread worms, but not tapeworms.
Tanacetum Vulg 1D: Pain in bowels; relieved by stool. Dull, confused. Of use in reflex spasms (worms).
