PODOPHYLLUM PELTATUM

The common names of the podophyllum are American Mandarke, European Mandarke, Indian Apple, May Apple. This plant is found in United States. It was proved and introduced by Williamson in 1824. The mother tincture is prepared from the fresh root and dilution from it. Podophyllum is especially adopted to the individuals of bilious temperament. It effects chiefly the duodenum, small intestines, liver, and the rectum. It should be remembered in gastro enteritis, colicy pains, large watery bilious vomiting, with large watery jelly like mucous stools, chronic congestions of the liver, cirrhosis prolapsus uteri and jaundice.
