STROPHANTHUS HISPIDUS

The common names of Strophanthus are Kombe Seeds and Strophanthi Somenco. This plant is found in tropical East Africa, Senegambia and Guinea. The mother tincture is prepared from the ripe seeds and dilution from it. This remedy is indicated for weak heart, heart enlargement and mitral regurgitation. This is a very good diuretic and even well safe for the aged. It also restore tone to the brittle tissue especially of the heart muscles and valves. It is also useful in the palpitation and breathlessness of the anaemic patients. It should also be remembered in exopthalmic goiter. It is also employed in alcoholism.
